Program Ideas to be customized for Your On-Site Staff Development Needs:

Integrating Enthusiasm in Early Literacy Instruction (K-2)

We often hear teachers of the primary grades lament that there “is no time to teach writing—we have to make sure they are reading well before the third grade test!” In this session, Denni will share with you an integrated approach for increasing reading achievement while developing a solid foundation in writing. Increasing fluency, phonemic awareness, sight word recognition, and comprehension can all happen within your current classroom structure, impacting awareness of the traits of quality writing and the joy of being an author! Regardless of your school’s reading program, these are daily steps that add delight as they seamlessly flow into the daily routine and show incredible results without hours of prep or grading. This seminar is offered through Guided Teaching or Barry Lane's Discover Writing Speaker's Bureau.
